Bhubaneswar, Nov 10 : Odisha reported 387 fresh covid 19 cases in the past 24 hours taking the tally to 10,44,428 while four more deaths were reported in the health audit pushing the total fatalities to 8368.
Health and family welfare department sources said 387 new cases which included 223 from quarantine centres and 164 local contact cases, were reported in the state from 64,302 tests with test positivity rate of 0.6 per cent.
Khordha district recorded the highest number of 195 cases, almost 50 per cent of the total cases followed by Cuttack( 33), Sambalpur ( 18), Puri ( 12 ) and 10 each in Jagatsinghpur and Jajpur.
These six districts together accounted for nearly 72 per cent of the total new cases reported from the state in the past 24 hours. As many as 19 districts in the state reported single-digit covid cases.
According to the health audit, four more covid deaths, three from Khordha district and one from Angul were reported in the past 24 hours pushing the total fatalities in the state to 8368.
With the recovery of 481 covid patients from the virus during the period, the total recovery in the state jumped to 10,33,027. The active cases further reduced to 2980 with Khordha alone registering 1442 cases followed by Cuttack(275)and Jajpur (111).
These three coastal districts together accounted for 61.34 per cent of the total active cases in the state. The other 27 districts in the state reported active cases of less than one hundred.
As far as the daily test positivity rate of the districts is concerned Khordha and Cuttack districts have reported 1.9 per cent and 1.1 per cent respectively.
However, the other 28 districts in the state have recorded a test positivity rate of less than one per cent.
