Omicron high alert in Bihar : Bihar on high alert for insulation against Omicron variant, Mangal Pandey

Patna, Dec 05 : Bihar has been put on high alert for taking all possible required measures to insulate people of the state from the Omicron variant of Covid 19.

A day after one of 23 Mangolian delegates visiting Bodh Gaya was found Corona positive, Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey today said that state government had taken all possible measures required to handle Omicron variant of Coronavirus. Directives had also been issued at the district level to make all arrangements to face the new challenge, he added.

” Dedicated hospitals for Corona set up during the first and second phase of Corona pandemic, would be revived taking all precautionary measures like hygienic conditions and disinfecting entire hospital area”, Health Minister said adding that it would help in immediate hospitalisation of newly detected Corona positive cases if the situation so arise. The government of India had issued comprehensive guidelines regarding the Omicron variant and it would be strictly followed in Bihar, he added.

” List of persons returning Bihar from abroad is being sent by Centre on day to day basis”, Mr Pandey said, adding that they were being tested to detect new positive cases. Health staff were being sent to their homes for collection of samples for testing, he further added. Government machinery had been placed on extra alert to test the persons returning from abroad, he stressed.
