OPD of Bilaspur AIIMS to start functioning from December 5

Hamirpur (HP), Dec 2 : OPD’s of the under construction AIIMS at Kothipura in Bilaspur district will start functioning from December 5, it was announced on Thursday.

Stating this on Thursday, Dr Dinesh Kumar Verma, Medical Superintendent, AIIMS, Bilaspur said that the general OPD service will be started on December 5.

He said that Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and BJP National President JP Nadda will also be present during a function of the Ayush Bhawan inauguration at Bilaspur on December 5 along with HP Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur and other cabinet ministers and MLAs.

He said that in the under construction AIIMS, nine Specialty Departments and nine Super Specialty Departments will be started in which many facilities like General Medicine, Surgery, ENT, Pediatrics, Office Gynecology, Orthopedics, Surgical Oncology, Pediatric Surgery, Neurology and Plastic Surgery will be provided to the people.

Apart from this, the facility of X-ray, Ultrasound will also be available in the OPD’s, whereas the facility of City Scan will take some more time to start.

It’s worth mentioning here that AIIMS Bilaspur is the lone such hospital in Himachal Pradesh and its foundation stone was laid by JP Nadda when he was the Union Health Minister.

With its construction, people of all parts of the state would be benefitted and they will not have to go to AIIMS, Chandigarh or Delhi for treatment of serious ailments.

When completed it will be a 750 bedded hospital and likely to be made fully operational by the end of year 2022, according to the sources of the Health Department.
