Islamabad, Sep 13 : Pakistan on Sunday confirmed 2,988 new COVID-19 cases and 67 more deaths, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) said on Monday.
The NCOC, the country’s department leading the campaign against the pandemic, said that the country’s number of overall confirmed cases had risen to 1,207,508, including 1,090,176 those who have recovered.
The number of active cases has dropped to 90,545 who are under treatment across the country, including 5,066 in critical conditions.
According to the NCOC, the pandemic killed 67 people on Sunday, increasing the overall death toll to 26,787.
Pakistan’s southern Sindh province is the most affected region of the country in terms of the number of cases with 445,369 infections, including 49,714 active cases, followed by the eastern Punjab province which has reported 414,390 infections, including 26,287 active cases.
