Parents’ Day: &TV artists share special bond with their onscreen parents

New Delhi, July 24 : On National Parents’ Day on Sunday, &TV artists talked about the special bond they share with their onscreen parents. These include Atharva (Bhimrao, Ek Mahanayak- Dr B.R. Ambedkar), Aan Tiwari (Baal Shiv, Baal Shiv), Yogesh Tripathi (Daroga Happu Singh, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Shubhangi Atre (Angoori Bhabi, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai).
Aan Tiwari, aka Baal Shiv in &TV’s ‘Baal Shiv’, said, “Mahasati Anusuya (essayed by Mouli Ganguly) is not only my best friend on the sets but also treats me like her son. She is always there to watch out for me and takes good care of me. We share a very special bond. Like a mother, she is always concerned about my well-being and ensures I eat healthily.”
“She listens to all my stories, and we play a lot together. She always pampers me with her little gestures and helps me with my rehearsals too. We spend a lot of time together, making fun reels, clicking pictures, eating meals, and playing together. Whenever we do our scenes, the way she hugs me, I feel my mother is hugging me. Not just in the show but in real life also, she guides and corrects me wherever I go wrong. I love her a lot, and she loves me too,” added Aan.
Atharva, aka Bhimrao in ‘Ek Mahanayak- Dr B.R.Ambedkar’, shared, “Ramji Sakpal was a man of principles and beliefs. He always encouraged his children to aspire and chase their dreams. He played a prominent role in shaping Babasaheb’s life. He stood like a pillar of strength in Babasaheb’s toughest times. He always stood firm on his core values and teachings.”
“Following his father’s guidance, Dr B. R Ambedkar began a historical journey of making a mark for himself in the world. We should thank the man behind this leader, who nurtured his son into becoming the inspiring leader of our times. Ramji was not just the support system of Babasaheb but also the backbone of the entire family and held everyone together,” Atharva added.
Yogesh Tripathi, aka Daroga Happu Singh in ‘Happu Ki Ultan Paltan’ said, “Himani Ji (Katori Amma) is one of the most lovable people I have ever met. We have a strong onscreen and offscreen bond and chemistry. In our show, Katori Amma is a caring and loving woman who enjoys spending time with her children, Happu and his wife, Rajesh (Kamna Pathak), and her grandchildren.”
“My Katori Amma may be a strict woman with certain rules for her family to follow, but her children are her life, making her the ideal mother and grandmother. And offscreen, also Himani Ji is no different. She is one gem of a person and an amazing cook who cooks Daal Baati churma for me whenever she gets a chance, and we eat it during lunch. Himani Ji is someone with whom I can talk about a wide range of topics. Our bond is one-of-a-kind because we have great affection and concern for one another. It’s no wonder she is like a parent to me,” added Yogesh.
Shubhangi Atre, aka Angoori Bhabi in ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai’, “Having a parent, guardian, or mentor on set makes everything so fun and easy on sets. My Dadoo Rakesh Bedi Ji (Bhure Lal) is like a father to me, and our bond is beyond anyone’s imagination. I was initially a bit nervous when working with a veteran actor and a senior artist like him. But he made me feel at ease, and we got along seamlessly. He has always been a joyful, free-spirited, and vibrant individual on and offscreen and very disciplined.”
“In his role as Bhure Lal, no one dares to meddle with him. I grew up watching his films and shows, which have inspired me a lot. Whenever he is on set, I care for him like my father. We eat, rehearse, and chit-chat together. Like my real dad, he also compliments my cooking, which makes me feel great. I am thankful and feel proud to share the screen with Rakesh Ji. “Happy parent’s day to everyone,” added Shubhangi.
