Pilgrims get rousing welcome on arrival at Ayodhya by Ramayana express train

Ayodhya, Nov 8 : A rousing welcome was accorded to the pilgrims who reached here on their maiden visit on the new Ramayana express train on Monday morning.

Senior district and railway officers were present at the newly rechristened Ayodhya cantonment station from the old Faizabad station at the platform Number 1 when the Ramayana express train chugged in at 0900 hrs.

The entire station was echoed with the chanting of “Jai Shree Ram’ by the pilgrims and other people present there.

The pilgrims traveling in the Ramayana express train thanked PM Narendra Modi and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath for starting this new train and made a facility to pray at the Ramlalla temple.

Several of the pilgrims were visiting Ayodhya for the first time, while several had visited earlier on.

Around 132 pilgrims were traveling in the first Ramayana Express train. After a night halt in Ayodhya today, the train will leave for Varanasi tomorrow in the noon.
