Chandigarh, Jan 6 : Punjab BJP President Ashwani Sharma on Thursday urged Governor Banwarilal Purohit to sack State Home Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Director General of Police (DGP) Sidharth Chattopadyay immediately in view of the security breach during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Punjab visit on Wednesday.

Talking to media after meeting the Governor, Sharma said there was a conspiracy behind the stalling of the PM’s convoy and alleged that Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi is the main conspirator.

The BJP leader also rejected the high-level committee set up by the Punjab government to carry out a through investigation into the major breach in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security when he was on his way to the border district of Ferozepur by road.

He said the Congress was unhappy with the huge response to the Ferozepur rally. He said they would expose as to how the government sent its own people to sabotage the rally.

A Punjab BJP delegation, led by state party president Ashwani Sharma, met Governor Banwarilal Purohit over the issue on Thursday.
