Politics News Update : Modi slams DMK for insulting TN CM’s mother

Dharapuram, Mar 30 : Strongly condemning the DMK for insulting Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami’s mother with disgusting remarks, Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi on Tuesday said the DMK-Congress combine have launched an outdated 2G missile targetting women, and cautioned them’ to control their party leaders.

Addressing an election rally, in which leaders of alliance partners, including Mr Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, BJP President L Murugan, who is contesting the April six elections from here, and leaders of PMK and TMC were present, Mr Modi said the proud sons and daughters of this region never compromise on their ideas and fought against injustice.

Stating that Congress and DMK have launched an outdated 2G missile, which had one clear target–the women of Tamil Nadu, Mr Modi said this mission was launched by UPA with a clear target against the ‘Nari Shakti’ (women) of Tamil Nadu.

‘Today I am in Dharapuram. I am in a land whose proud sons and daughters never compromise on their ideals and fought against injustice’, he said.

‘From here, I want to tell Congress and DMK, please control your party leaders. I want to tell Congress and DMK that people of Tamil Nadu are noting everything and they will never tolerate insult to the women of the State’, he said.

Referring to DMK MP A Raja’s uncivilised and uncultured remarks on the birth of Mr Palaniswami, the Prime Minister said the DMK and the Congress have insulted the respected mother of Tamil Nadu Cief Minister.

‘God forbids, if they come to power they will insult many other women of Tamil Nadu’, he said, adding, sadly, insulting women was part of the Congress-DMK culture.

Mr Modi also referred to DMK speaker Dindigul I Leoni’s speech a few days ago and said he had made a horrible remarls on women, but the DMK had not stopped him. Referring to DMK President M K Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi emerging in the forefront, Mr Modi said ‘the young crown prince came to the fore sidelining many senior leaders and he too made some horrible remarks against women’.

But the DMK had not stopped him and did not do anything.

Mr Modi also recalled how late J Jayalalithaa became the victim of violence in the Assembly. when she was assaulted by DMK MLAs and Ministers.

‘Never forget March 25, 1989, how the DMK leaders treated Amma Jayalalithaa in the Tamil Nadu Assembly’, Mr Modi said, adding, the DMK and the Congress will not guarantee women empowerment as crimes against women have been on the rise during their rule.
