Srinagar, Apr 2 : At least two persons, including a woman, were injured when security forces burst teargas shells and fired pellets on Friday to disperse stone pelting demonstrators in Pulwama, where three unidentified militants were killed in an encounter during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO).
Official sources said that scores of people, mostly youth, hit the streets at Samboora Kakpora in Pulwama trying to enter the encounter area. However, security forces and police personnel deployed in the area immediately swung into action and resorted to lathicharge following by burst of teargas shells to disperse the demonstrators.
Later, security forces fired pellets to restore normalcy in the area, they said adding 25-year-old Ishrat Jan and Ghulam Nabi Dar (42), both local residents were injured.
Both the injured have been admitted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Pampore, they said adding Ishrat has bullet while Dar pellet wounds.
