Meerut, Dec 7 : The alliance between the Samajwadi Party and the Rashtriya Lok Dal for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2022 was formally announced here on Tuesday during a joint public rally by both the parties.
In the presence of Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav on the stage, Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Jayant Chaudhary announced his party’s alliance with SP and claimed that a double-engine government will now come in Uttar Pradesh.
During the Parivartan Sandesh rally at Dabathua, Jayant announced that when their government will come, they will construct a memorial in Meerut in the memory of the farmers, who died during the farm agitation.
“This memorial will remind the people of the sacrifices made by the farmers,” he added.
As per the preliminary alliance agreement, RLD will be contesting sround 36 seats , mostly in western UP.
Choudhury also attacked Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and blamed him for the exodus of youth from western UP due to lack of jobs. He said such a road was built in Bijnor that when the MLA broke the coconut, the road broke.
He said that when leaders joined BJP, they were horses, but now they were made mules by the party.
“In politics these days, a term being used often is the ‘firebrand leader,’ but they are not firebrands. Farmers were insulted for a year but none of the BJP leaders dared to utter a word. How can these be firebrands?,” he added.
SP president Akhilesh Yadav, in his address, said that people have decided to throw out BJP from UP in this election and from the country in 2024.
“If the SP-RLD government is formed, the government will make a separate budget and give funds to the farmers. The Centre should make a concrete law on MSP,” he added.
