Rupee rises 3 paise

Mumbai, Oct 8 : The rupee on Tuesday gained 3 paise at 83.95 against USD in opening trade, on selling of US dollars by bankers and importers, dealers at the foreign exchange said.
The local unit gained owing to weak dollar against other world currencies amid rebounding stock market in early trade, traders informed.
The rupee recorded intraday highs and lows at 83.92 and 83.96 respectively, the dealer added.
