Rupee rises 5 paise against USD

Mumbai, Aug 29 : The rupee on Thursday gained 5 paise at 83.91 against USD in opening trade on selling of US dollar by bankers and exporters, dealers at the Foreign exchange said.
The local unit advanced due to a weak dollar against other world currencies amid a robust stock market in the opening session, traders informed.
The rupee recorded intraday highs and lows at 83.88 and 83.94, respectively, the dealer added.
