Sensex at new high, 83,646 pts

Mumbai, Sep 20 : The BSE Sensex on Friday remained at new peak at 83,646, rallied 461 pts in opening trade, as buying was seen across the board alongwith strong global cues.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange ( NSE) rose 159 pts at 25,522.90.
The Sensex registered intra and high and low at 83,805.26 and 82,187.64 pts respectively.
The NSE registered days high and low at 25,610.10 and 24,426.60 pts respectively.
The Mid cap rose 0.27 pc and Small cap by 0.66 pc.
In 30 scrips, 22 advanced while 8 declined.
The gainers were JSW Steel by 3.42 pc to Rs 979.50, M& M by 2.28 pc to Rs 2860.15, Maruti Suzuki by 2.08 pc to Rs 12,614.05, Tata Steel by 1.60 pc to Rs 152 and L& T by 1.53 pc to Rs 3738.85.
The losers were NTPC by 0.60 pc to Rs 421.45, TCS by 0.54 pc to Rs 4273.45, IndusInd Bank by 0.32 pc to Rs 1479.40 and Sun Pharma by 0.18 pc to Rs 1843.10.
