Sensex down over 200 pts

Mumbai, Oct 21 : The BSE Sensex on Monday dropped 298.67 pts at 80,926.08 in opening session as selling was seen across the board.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) fell 143.95 pts at 24,710.
Recovering more than 200 pts on Friday, the equity market was seen weak in opening trade as it fell more than 200 pts.
The Sensex registered intra and high and low at 81,770.02 and 80,811.23 pts respectively.
The NSE registered days high and low at 24,978.30 and 24,679.60
pts respectively.
The Mid cap fell by 0.45 pc and Small cap 0.90 pc.
In 30 scrips, 6 advanced while 24 declined.
The losers were Kotak Bank by 5.39 pc to Rs 1769, Bharti Airtel by 2.54 pc to Rs 1663.45, IndusInd Bank by 2.23 pc to Rs 1316.50 and M& M by 1.85 pc to Rs 2908.80.
The gainers were HDFC Bank by 2.91 pc to Rs 1730, Tech Mahindra by 2.39 pc to Rs 1728.40, Asian paints by 0.84 pc to Rs 3015.70 and Axis Bank by 0.74 pc to Rs 1204.15.
