Mumbai, Sep 7 : The BSE Sensex on Wednesday tumbled down 360.20 points at 58,836.79 as selling was seen in IT, Telecom, Utilities and Bankex stocks amid weak Asian Market.
The Nifty too slipped 101.80 points at 17,553.80.
The Sensex registered days high and low at 58,879 and 58,722.89 points respectively.
The Nifty recorded days high and low at 17,570.10 and 17,484.30 points respectively.
The Mid Cap rose by 0.04 and Small Cap by 0.07 pc respectively.
In 30 scrips, 6 advanced while 24 declined.
The losers were Bharti Airtel by 1.60 per cent to Rs 749.10, IndusInd Bank by 1.34 per cent to Rs 1093.75, HDFC by 1 per cent to Rs 2423.15 and Infosys by 0.85 per cent to Rs 1443.
The gainers were Hind Unilever by 0.47 per cent to Rs 2584.70, Nestle India Ltd by 0.21 per cent to Rs 19,084.05, Asian Paints by 0.15 per cent to Rs 3400.35 and Tata Steel by 0.17 per cent to Rs 108.75.
