Sensex down over 600 pts

Mumbai, Oct 25 : The BSE Sensex continued to slid on Friday, slumping 627 pts at 79,437.75 in opening session as selling was seen across the board.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange ( NSE) slipped 214.70 pts at 24,184.70.

The NSE registered days high and low at 24,440.05 and 24,113.05

pts respectively.

The Mid cap fell 2.19 pc and Small cap 2.84 pc.

In 30 scrips, 11 advanced while 19 declined.

The losers were IndusInd Bank by 17.61 pc to Rs 1053.65, M & M 4.55 pc to Rs 2699.50, L & T by 3.14 pc to Rs 3335.15 and Adani Ports by 2.85 pc to Rs 1317.95.

The losers were ITC by 3.94 pc to Rs 490.45, Axis Bank by 1.02 pc to Rs 1179.90 and Sun Pharma by 0.97 pc to Rs 1867.
