Sensex ends all- time-high at 82,962.71 pts

Mumbai, Sep 12 : The BSE Sensex on Thursday ended at a life time high at 82,962.71, surging 1439.55 pts on strong global cues.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange ( NSE) advanced 470.45 pts at 25,388.90.
Expecting rate-cut across the globe (ECB & US Fed) has provided a positive impetus to the global market.
Even, the rally will be influenced by the outcome of domestic inflation and IIP data.
The equity market remained strong throughout the session, as the sensex jumped 407 pts at 81,930.18. During the day it was spurted 1593 pts at 83,116.19, days high before closing at 82,962.71, zoomed up 1439.55 pts from its previous close.
The NSE registered days high and low at 25,433.35 and 24,941.45 pts respectively.
The stocks that glittered were Metal by 3.05 pc, Technology by 2.06 pc, Power by 2.02 pc and Telecommunications by 2.61 pc.
The Mid cap rose by 1.32 pc and Small cap by 0.79 pc.
In 30 scrips, 29 advanced while 1 declined.
The gainers were Bharti Airtel by 4.36 pc to Rs 1646.50, NTPC by 3.87 pc to Rs 404.80, M& M by 3.36 pc to Rs 2742.25, JSW Steel by 3.06 pc to Rs 955.25 and Adani Ports by 2.94 pc to Rs 1472.25.
The sole losers was Nestle India Ltd by 0.09 pc to Rs 2524.15.
The Asian Market ended robust as Strait Times rose 0.71 pc, Hang Seng by 0.76 pc and Taiwan Weighted by 2.87 pc.
