Sensex falls over 200 pts

Mumbai, Sep 13 : The BSE Sensex on Friday fell 204 pts at 82,758 in opening session on profit booking by local operators.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) declined 45 pts at 25,343.

Registering an all time high on Thursday, the equity market opened negative, as the BSE sensex registered intra day high and low at 83,092.93 and 82,653.22 pts respectively.

The NSE registered days high and low at 25,430.50 and 25,292.45 pts respectively.

The Mid Cap moved up 0.44 pc and Small Cap by 0.79 pc.

In 30 scrips, 11 advanced while 19 declined.

The losers were Asian Paint by 1.24 pc to Rs 3338.80, ITC by 1.12 pc to Rs 513.25, Hind Unilever by 0.94 pc to Rs 2925.45 and M& M by 0.92 pc to Rs 2716.90.

The gainers were Tata Steel by 2.04 pc to Rs 154.85, JSW Steel by 966.15, Tata Motors by 1.01 pc to Rs 997 and Nestle India Ltd jy 0.90 pc to Rs 2550.65.
