Sensex jumps over 300 pts

Mumbai, Nov 11 : The BSE Sensex on Monday regained 323.43 pts at 79,809.75 in opening session on the strength of IT, Telecommunications and Utilities stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 88.90 pts at 24,237.10.
The NSE registered days high and low at 24,267.65 and 24,004.60 pts respectively.
The Sensex registered intra day high at 79,883.42 and 79,001.34 pts.
The Mid cap rose 0.27 pc while Small cap fell 0.41 pc.
In 30 scrips, 17 advanced while 13 declined.
The gainers were Powergrid by 3.67 pc to Rs 328, Tata Motors by 2.04 pc to Rs 822.15, TCS by 1.45 pc to Rs 4205.10, Maruti Suzuki by 1.35 pc to Rs 11460 and HCL Technology by 1.33 pc to Rs 1861.95.
The losers were Asian Paints by 7.92 pc to Rs 2550.05, M& M by 1.15 pc to Rs 2944.95, Tata Steel by 1.15 pc to Rs 145.85 and Adani Ports by 0.90 pc to Rs 1350.90.
