Sensex recovers over 200 pts

Mumbai, Nov 14 : The BSE Sensex on Thursday recovered 206 points at 77,897.35 in the opening session as buying was seen in industrials, energy, and consumer discretionary goods and services stocks.
The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 55 pts to 23,614.30.
The NSE registered days high and low at 23,675.90 and 23,500.65.
pts respectively.
The Sensex registered intraday highs at 78,055.52 and 77,518.50 pts.
The midcap gained 0.91 pc and Small cap by 1.63 pc.
In 30 scrips, 16 advanced while 14 declined.
The gainers were HDFC Bank by 1.06 pc to Rs 1699, JSW Steel by 1.05 pc to Rs 945.95, Kotak Bank by 1.04 pc to Rs 1705.75, and SBI by 0.80 pc to Rs 814.85.
The losers were Hind Unilever by 1.10 pc to Rs 2437.55, Maruti Suzuki by 0.72 pc to Rs 10969, ITC by 0.69 pc to Rs 468.90, and TCS by 0.55 pc to Rs 4126.30.
