Sensex rises 80 points

Mumbai, Aug 1 : The BSE Sensex on Tuesday gained 80 points to 66,608.39 in the opening session as buying was seen across the board.
The Nifty too rose 6.95 points to 19,760.75.
The midcap gained 0.14 percent and the small cap gained 0.70 percent.
In 30 scrips, 19 advanced, 10 declined, and one remained unchanged.
The gainers were NTPC by 2.06 pc to Rs 222.95, Tech Mahindra by 1.29 pc to Rs 1130.05, Tata Motors by 1 pc to Rs 650.50, M&M by 0.78 pc to Rs 1487.50, and HCl Technology by 0.84 pc to Rs 1126.40.
The losers were Powergrid by 4.23 c to Rs 254.75, Maruti Suzuki by 0.94 pc to Rs 9727, Bajaj Finserv by 0.77 pc to Rs 1586.70, and Hind Unilever by 0.37 pc to Rs 2552.15.
