Sensex up over 100 points

Mumbai, Sep 4 : The BSE Sensex on Monday gained 108.09 pts to 65,493.25 in the opening session as buying was seen across the board.

The Nifty rose 53.70 points to 19,489.

Stocks like Metals, Bankex, Capital Goods, and Realty lifted the market in early trade.

The Mid Cap increased by 0.65%, while the Small Cap increased by 0.86 %.

In 30 scrips, 17 advanced while 13 declined.

The gainers were Tata Steel by 4.05 pc to Rs 132.25, Ultracemco by 2.25 pc to Rs 8450, JSW Steel by 1.93 pc to Rs 821.50, and L&T by 0.98 pc to Rs 2727.25.

The losers were Asian Paints by 0.76 pc to Rs 3255.30, ICICI Bank by 0.37 pc to Rs 965.50, Nestle India Ltd. by 21,824.60, and Sun Pharma by 0.36 pc to Rs 1104.55.
