Slain HM commander Burhan Wani’s father hoist national flag in south Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 15 : Slain Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commander Burhan Wani’s father Muzaffar Wani on Sunday hoisted the National flag at a school in the south Kashmir district of Pulwama.

The Union Territory (UT) administration has directed all educational institutions and government offices to hoist the national flag as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’’ on I-Day.

Wani, who is a teacher hoisted the flag on the premises of Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Tral.

HM poster boy Burhan Wani was killed in an encounter by security forces in the south Kashmir district of Anantnag in July 2016 triggering a massive five-month summer agitation in Kashmir that leftover 100 people dead and thousands injured.
