SP MLA forcefully admitted to the hospital to break his hunger protest

Lucknow, Nov 6 : Samajwadi Party MLA Rakesh Pratap Singh, who had tendered his resignation from the Uttar Pradesh assembly, was forcefully admitted to the hospital here on late Friday night on his third day of hunger protest.

Mr Singh, was on hunger protest at the GPO in Lucknow since November 3 after his demand for construction of 2 roads in his Gauriganj assembly constituency of Amethi district was not accepted.

He tendered his resignation from the UP assembly on November 2.

On Friday night, Lucknow district authorities forcefully took away the SP MLA from the GPO and admitted him to the Civil hospital.

However , the SP MLA alleged that the authorities have forcefully admitted him to the hospital and broke his hunger protest.

Later a photo of the SP MLA went viral in the social media, which showed that the hands and feet were tied on the bed of the hospital while drip was being given.

But on the other hand, officials here on Saturday clarified that as the health of the MLA was deteriorating hence , he was admitted to the hospital.

The resignation of the MLA from the UP assembly was yet to be accepted by speaker Hridya Narain Dikshit.
