“Today it gives me great pleasure to announce on behalf of SAD-BSP alliance that now one out of two Deputy Chief Ministers in our government will be from BSP,” Badal announced during the party rally here today.

Earlier, the SAD had announced that two MLAs, one from Scheduled Caste and one from the Hindu community, would be sworn-in as Deputy Chief Minister once the alliance forms the government in Punjab.

The SAD has formed an alliance with the BSP in Punjab after it had broken its alliance with the BJP on the farmers’ issue and walked out of the NDA government at the Centre.
