Tamil Nadu News Update : Stalin unveils 10-year vision plan, promises Rs 1,000 for housewives per month

Trichy, Mar 8 : Opposition DMK President unveiled his ten-year vision statement at a public rally here last night, promising Rs 1,000 for housewives having ration cards per month.

Addressing a well-attended election meeting ahead of the April six Assembly polls, he unveiled seven priority areas for Tamil Nadu’s development and also promised creation of ten lakh jobs as part of the vision document to reduce unemployment. Appealing to the voters to oust the ruling AIADMK, he also urged them to elect the DMK was consecutive terms to fulfill the promises made in the ten year vision statement.

The seven areas that Mr Stalin stressed on the vision statement were economy, agriculture, water resources, education and health, urban development, rural infrastructure and social justice.

While assuring to double the education assistance provided to the SCs, STs and OBCs, he also promised to achieve double digit growth and make Tamil Nadu a Rs 35 lakh crore economy, with a rise in per capita income to Rs four lakh per annum.
