Tejaswi demands installation of statues of Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, Ramvilas Paswan in Bihar

Patna, Sep 11 : Outlining the contributions of socialist leader, associated with RJD, Dr Raghuvansh Prasad Singh and LJP leader Ram Vilas Paswan, the leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejasvi Prasad Yadav today demanded from the government for installation of their statues in the state and declare either their birth or death anniversary as a state function.

Mr Yadav said that both Dr Singh and Mr Paswan were prominent socialist leader and great personality of Bihar who gave their best to the state through their social and political services.

He said that the people of Bihar owe to both the leaders.

Referring to the letters written by Dr Singh to the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar prior to his demise in which he had requested the latter to fulfill some work, Mr Yadav hoped that the chief minister must have initiated steps towards fulfilling the tasks and wishes of Dr Singh as mark of respect and tribute to the departed leader.

Mr Yadav further said that late Mr Ram Vilas Paswan was a prominent supporter of socialism and strived for the development of the oppressed section throughout his life. The former Union Minister Paswan also contributed in the development of Bihar, he added.

Keeping in mind the contributions of these two great leaders, their statue should be installed and their birth or death anniversary be declared as a state function, demanded Mr Yadav.
