Beed, June 15 : Maharashtra Agriculture minister Dhananjay Munde has assured there will be no shortage of fertiliser and seeds anywhere in the state, as proper planning is being done by appointing a government task force.

According to a state government media statement Friday night, Maharashtra is expected to receive satisfactory rainfall during this year’s kharif season. In this regard, agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilisers, pesticides etc. are being made available in abundance at the government and market levels.

Appropriate planning is being done by appointing a government task force to ensure there is no shortage anywhere in the state, the minister said.

After the government proposed five agricultural laws against bogus seeds, linking, sale of fertilizer-seeds at high prices in the state, artificial scarcity of agricultural inputs is being pretended by certain elements, Munde cautioned.

He said it was being done deliberately by some quarters, and the government was cracking down on those feigning artificial scarcity of fertilisers and seeds or selling them at high prices.

Meanwhile, the state government has provided a direct WhatsApp number (9822664455) for farmers to lodge complaints for the Agricultural Complaint Helpline, and so far 153 complaints have been received and action has been taken on 75 of those found valid.

Under Munde’s chairmanship, a review meeting was organised on Friday in Beed regarding the pending works of Mahavitran, monsoon planning and various other schemes.
