Two criminals involved in bank robbery arrested

Bulandshahr (UP), Oct 11 : Two criminals involved in armed robbery in a branch of the Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) were arrested after an encounter with the police in the Dehat Kotwali area of Bulandshahr district in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said on Wednesday.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shlok Kumar said on October 9, three masked men looted Rs 7.84 lakh from the Neemkheda branch of the IOB after holding employees captive at gunpoint. “Several teams were constituted to nab the miscreants,” he said.
He said that in the wee hours on Wednesday, around 3 am the police team had an encounter with the robbers in which Ahmad and Abid sustained bullet injuries.
“Their third accomplice, Ankit, managed to flee from the spot,” he said.
The SSP said that the accused have been admitted to the hospital. “The police team recovered Rs 4.50 lakh from the possession of the accused. A pistol, a country-made firearm, and cartridges were recovered from their possession,” he said.
