Ukraine loses up to 780 soldiers in fighting with Yug Group: Russian military

Moscow, Aug 27 : Russia’s Yug (South) group of forces has repelled one counterattack and eliminated up to 780 Ukrainian service people over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defence Ministry said on Tuesday.
“One counter-attack launched by the AFU 5th Assault Brigade has been repelled. The AFU losses were up to 780 troops, one German-made Leopard tank, one armoured fighting vehicle, four motor vehicles,” the ministry said in a statement.
Over the give period, the Tsentr (Center) group of forces has taken control of the village of Orlovka, also known as Orlivka, in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and repelled 7 counterattacks, eliminating up to 530 Ukrainian troops, the statement read, adding that the Zapad (West) group of forces has eliminated up to 490 Ukrainian troops.
Kiev has also lost up to 145 service people in battles with the Vostok (East) group, while the Sever (North) group has repelled three counterattacks, eliminating up to 115 service people.
The Russian armed forces have also launched a massive strike on critically important objects of the Ukrainian airfield infrastructure, the ministry said, adding that all targets have been hit.
