UP TET question paper leak: 23 arrested over TET question paper leak, free govt bus travel for examinees returning home

Lucknow, Nov 28 : The Special Task Force(STF) of Uttar Pradesh has arrested 23 people for their involvement in leaking TET question papers, police said on Sunday.

“We have arrested 23 people so far, including some people from Bihar. As many as 13 people were arrested from Prayagraj, 4 from Luckmow, 3 from Meerut, 2 each from Gorakhpur and Varanasi and one from Kaushambi,” ADG (law and order) Prashant Kumar told reporters here on Sunday.

He said on the orders from the government the TET examinations have been cancelled and now it will be held within next one month time.

Meanwhile, UP government has announced free travel for the examinees returning back to their homes on Sunday by UPSRTC buses.

“The examinees have to show their TET admit card to avail the free bus facility,” ADG said.

On Saunday UP TET exam was scheduled to be held in 2 shifts at 2336 centers in which 19,99,418 examinees were legible to appear for the exam.

The ADG said that photocopy of the question papers and mobiles have been recovered from the arrested people.

“After sharing these recovered question papers with the government, it came to light that these were the question papers of TET. Following which the government decided that these examinations should be canceled ” he disclosed.

He said the state government will bear the entire expenditure on the re-examination and students will not have to fill any form or pay any fee.
