Dehri-on-Sone, Oct 23 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday accused the then UPA government at the Centre of wasting time of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar by creating hurdles in development of Bihar while the state started developing four to five times faster with beginning of an era of double engine government of NDA in Bihar and at the Centre both.
Mr Modi while launching campaign of NDA here in Rohtas district of Bihar for Assembly Elections, said that the then Congress led UPA government at the Centre had wasted time of Chief Minister Mr Kumar by creating hurdles in development of Bihar.
The proposal of Mr Kumar moved in the interest of Bihar used to be blocked by the then UPA government creating hurdles and Mr Kumar had to remark in frustration then, that New Delhi should not become battleground of politics of Bihar, he added.
Prime Minister said that he was then Chief Minister of Gujarat and had the experience of the meeting used to be convened by the Centre where hurdles were created in development of Bihar.
The pace of development of Bihar accelerated four to five times when Mr Kumar joined hands with NDA in 2017 and Bihar got double engine government with NDA in power both at the centre and in the state, he added.
” Had Bihar not got double engine government, the state would have pushed back 15 years behind instead of moving on fast track of development”, Mr Modi said adding that the same UPA which had created hurdles in development of Bihar, was now seeking blessings of people.
How UPA was daring to seek votes in ongoing Assembly Elections, he wondered.
