Lucknow, Dec 25 : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will distribute one crore free smartphones and tablets on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Saturday.
One lakh smartphones and tablets will be given to final year students at Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
On the occasion, CM will also launch Digi Shakti Portal and Digi Shakti Adhyayan App. Digi Shakti Adhyayan App is installed on all smartphones and tablets to be given by the CM.
A large number of students including girls from every district of the state will participate in the programme. Through these smartphones and tablets, they will not only get content for studies, but information related to employment will also be given.
As per the announcement made by CM Yogi, free smartphones and tablets will be given to one crore youth in order to make them technically advanced. Under which in the first phase, on December 25, CM Yogi will distribute 60,000 smartphones and 40,000 tablets to the youths.
Through the Digi Shakti Adhyayan App, the university or department concerned will provide study material to the students. Along with this, information about employment related schemes and other youth welfare schemes will also be given by the government through boot logo and wall paper.
The UP government is signing a contract with IT company Infosys. With this, over 3,900 programmes of Infosys related to education and employment will be available to the youth free of cost.
Special Secretary, IT and Electronics Department, Kumar Vineet said, “Government has made elaborate plans to empower the youths of UP. Through smartphones and tablets, youth will be provided with excellent content for studies, competitive examinations and employment with which they will be able to become Self-reliant.”
In the first phase, free smartphones and tablets will be given to the youth of the state studying in the final year. After this, programs will be organiSed and distributed at the local level in the districts. Those youths who have not been registered can be re-registered on Digi Shakti portal from Dec 25 onwards.
The Yogi government is making all efforts to fulfill the expectations of the youths in UP. The youth aims for jobs, economic progress, equality, and freedom from poverty. The UP government is working in this direction.
Through 82 lakh MSME units, the government has provided employment opportunities to over 2.50 crore unemployed youths of the state. More than 4.50 lakh youth of the state were given government jobs in the last over 4.5 years, while as many as 3.50 lakh youth were appointed on a contract basis.
Employment was given to five lakh youth under startup policy.
