Veteran journalist E Somanath passes away

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 28 : Veteran Journalist and former Senior Special Correspondent of leading Malayala Manorama, E Somanath passed away, while undergoing treatment for brain hemorrhage, at a private hospital here on Friday.
He was 58 and is survived by his wife Radha, daughter Devaki and son-in-law Midhun. The veteran political analyst and environmental journalist, hailing from Vallikkunnu in Malappuram district, had retired from Malayala Manorama in 2021.
During his 34-years service, Somanath served in Kottayam, Idukki, Kannur, Kollam, New Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram bureaus of Malayala Manorama. Before his retirement, he was felicitated by Kerala Assembly Speaker M B Rajesh and other legislators.
