VHP workers stage massive protest as Khelari block president of outfit shot dead in Ranchi

Ranchi, Dec 16 : Protesting against the murder of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Block president, Khelari workers and supporters of the outfit were involved in major protest in the district.

The coal belt of Khelari region witnessed a complete shut down during the day while the highway connecting Ranchi with Chatra and Hazaribagh was also blocked. The loading of the coal from the coal siding project was stopped which is expected to have caused losses running into several crores to the railways and the CCL.

The VHP supporters took out processions and indulged in slogan shouting against the administration and also burnt tires at different spots.
VHP block president of Khelari Mukesh Soni was shot dead on Wednesday late evening.

During the inaugural day of winter session of Jharkhand Assembly Kanke MLA Samri Lal even staged a dharna demanding the arrest of the killers of Manoj Soni.

Meanwhile, Ranchi Rural SP Naushad Aalam said that he himself was monitoring the probe for which an SIT comprising two DSP ranks officials and teams from four police stations are involved in probe.

He said that police is also taking help of the technical cell to catch the criminals.
