Mumbai, Mar 11 : Maharashtra state Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday said that everyone knows Jain community’s public welfare sentiment towards the society.
Jain society is a society that supports others in happiness and sorrow. The Jain community has helped the country abundantly during times of crisis.
Rashtrasant His Holiness Shri Nayapadmasagar Surishwarji Maharaj was conferred the title of Acharya Maha-Mahotsava today at Mahalakshmi Race Course in Mumbai.
Shinde was talking at that time. The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Guardian Minister of Mumbai Suburban District Mangalprabhat Lodha, former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev and a large number of saints and Jain brothers from home and abroad.
Mr.Shinde said that the state government has recently announced the state budget and in this the progress and upliftment of all the people has been considered.
At the same time, Mr. Shinde said that Go-Seva Commission has been established in this budget.
Chief Minister Mr. Eknath Shinde congratulated Rashtrasant Nayapadmasagarji and Prashantsagarji on receiving the title of Acharya from the Government of Maharashtra.
Speaking on this occasion Mr Fadnavis said that,even though the title of Acharya is conferred on Rashtrasant Nayapadmasagarji today, this post is a penance. To become an Acharya one has to do a penance. After reaching this position, the hopes and aspirations of crores of people have to be blessed and he expressed the hope that this work will continue continuously.
Fadnavis further said that Nayapadmasagarji is not a saint but a thought. They are organizing the society and moving it forward. It is teaching people patriotism along with religion.
