HP: One held with poppy husk in Una

Una (HP), Mar 21 : Una police have arrested a truck driver with 1.220 kilograms of poppy husk in his possession.

A spokesman of the Una police said today that Jol police team was on traffic checking and patrolling on Monday evening. During this, a truck was searched on the basis of suspicion at Jol Chowk, in which poppy husk was recovered. The police immediately took the truck driver Gurbaksh Singh into custody and seized poppy husk. Then the police interrogated the accused by taking him to the police post from where Gurbaksh Singh brought poppy straw, the police are ascertaining its source during interrogation.

SP Una, Arjit Sen Thakur said that the police have registered a case against him under the NDPS Act. He said that the accused is a resident of Makrad village.
