Sensex jumps over 800 pts

Mumbai, Aug 9 : The BSE Sensex on Friday surged 824 points to 79,984.24 in early trade, as all sectoral indices were in green.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 250.45 points to 24,367.45 points.
The equity market has witnessed high volatility since the last three sessions, on Thursday, it was tanked over 500 points, and on Friday, in the opening trade, it was rallied over 800 points on the strength of Power, Realty, and Technology stocks, which soared more than one per cent.
The BSE registered intraday highs and lows at 79,984.24 and 79,549.09 points, respectively.
The NSE registered days as high and low at 24,419.75 and 24,315.90 points, respectively.
The Mid Cap gained 1.04 pc, while the Small Cap by 0.90 pc.
All 30 scrips were positive.
Tata Motors rose by 3.01 pc to Rs 1072.70, M& M by 2.63 pc to Rs 2753.10, Tech Mahindra by 1.87 pc to Rs 1493.90, HCL Technology by 1.87 pc to Rs 1587.30 and Bharti Airtel by 1.70 pc to Rs 1476.
