UP: Child dies, another injured after being hit by lightning

Jaunpur (UP), Mar 20 : A child was killed and one more was injured after being struck by lightning in Barsathi area of Jaunpur district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Monday.

Police sources said that late on Sunday evening Saajan (13), a resident of Ganeshpur village, was playing with Raj when it started raining. “In a bid to avoid the sudden storm and rain, both of them took shelter under a shed during which it was by the lighting injuring the two children seriously,” they said.

Police sources said that the children were taken to the district hospital by the family members where doctors declared Saajan dead. “Raj is being treated at the district hospital,” they said.
