Bengal CID accuses Delhi Police of hindering their duty

New Delhi, Aug 3 : West Bengal CID on Wednesday accused Delhi Police of stopping them from executing search operation in Delhi which was a lawful duty.

Sources said that on Wednesday morning a CID team from West Bengal was allegedly restrained by Delhi Police from conducting searches and raid at the place of an accused in the national capital.

The CID said that they went to Delhi to execute the search operation but were stopped from doing their duty.

CID West Bengal, in a tweet, wrote, “In Course of investigation of Panchla Police Station Case no 276/22 a team of CID which had gone to Delhi to execute search warrant issued by Ld Court has been stopped from doing their lawful duty on the direction of @dcp_southwest. Personal intervention of CP Delhi is requested.”

The state Criminal Investigation Department also posted a copy of the search warrant on its Twitter handle. However, Delhi Police which is under the Ministry of Home Affairs, did not respond on the issue.
