Sensex falls 90 points

Mumbai, Mar 6 : The BSE Sensex declined 90 points on Wednesday to open at 73587.70 as selling was seen in Oil and Gas, Power, and Utilities stocks.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) eased 45.75 points to 22364.35.
The Sensex registered intraday highs and lows at 73,765.95 and 73,448.09, points, respectively.

The Nifty registered intraday highs and lows at 22,369.45 and 20,289.40 points, respectively.

The midcap fell by 1.02 per cent and the small cap by 1.47 per cent.
In 30 scrips, 9 advanced, while 21 declined.

The losers were NTPC by 1.76 pc to Rs 351, Wipro by 1.60 pc to Rs 505.10, Powergrid by Rs 290.55, and Tech Mahindra by 1.39 pc to Rs 1255.15.

The gainers were Kotak Bank by 1.68 pc to Rs 351, Axis Bank by 1.43 pc to Rs 1116.40, ICICI Bank by 1.46 pc to Rs 1104, and HDFC Bank by 0.60 pc to Rs 1449.70.
