Maharashtra logs 59.64 pc polling in 4th phase of LS election

Mumbai, May 14 : Beed parliamentary constituency from where Pankaja Munde is trying her luck recorded highest voter turnout while Pune lowest as Maharashtra in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections registered approximately 59.64 per cent voting across 11 seats.

The polling process on Monday across parts of western and north Maharashtra, besides some in the Marathwada region in the state ended 6 pm with nearly 59.64 percent turnout, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer said late last night.

All the EVMs in these constituencies were locked up in strong room in the presence of all the political parties’ representatives in respective constituencies amid tight security.

As per the EC information, Beed in Marathwada region recorded highest 69.74 percent voting while Pune constituency recorded lowest 51.25 percent. Nandurbar recorded 67.12, Ahmednagar (62.76), Raver (61.36), Shirdi (61.13), Aurangabad (60.73), Jalgaon (53.65), Maval (52.90) and Shirur 51.46 percent.

Counting of votes will be held on June 4.
