Sensex rises 67 points

Mumbai, Feb 28 : The BSE Sensex on Wednesday rose 67 points to open at 73162.82 as buying was seen in financial services, health care, and IT stocks.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) moved up 15 points to 22,214.10.

The Sensex registered intraday highs and lows at 73,178.28 and 73,044.44 points respectively.

The Nifty registered intraday highs and lows at 22,226.30 and 22,184.35 points, respectively.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.03 pc and the Small Cap by 0.14 pc.

In 30 scrips, 13 advanced, while 17 declined.

The gainers were Tata Motors by 1.10 pc to Rs 973.35, SBI by 0.84 pc to Rs 756, Bharti Airtel by 0.68 pc to Rs 1135.05 and Ibfosys by 0.48 pc to Rs 1672.70.

The losers were Asian Paints by 1.62 pc to Rs 2812.15, M&M by 1.16 pc to Rs 1930.60, Maruti Suzuki by 0.80 pc to Rs 11411 and Powergrid by 0.62 pc to Rs 290.70.
