Sensex drops over 500 points

Mumbai, Apr 15 : The BSE Sensex remained under pressure on Monday too, as it plummeted 516.67 points to 73728.33 in the opening session as selling was seen across the board.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) slipped 149.55 points to 22,369.85.

The NSE registered days high and low at 22,385.40 and 22,263.15 points respectively.

The Sensex registered intraday highs and lows at 73769.10 and 73315.16 points, respectively.

The midcap fell by 0.96 and the small cap by 1.26 p.c.

In 30 scrips, 6 advanced, 23 declined, and one remained unchanged.

The losers were Tata Motors by 2.22 percent to Rs 995.75, ICICI Bank by 1.73 percent to Rs 1085.10, Hind Unilever by 1.65 pc to Rs 2196.15 and Tech Mahindra by 1.55 pc to Rs 1223.

The gainers were JSW Steel by 1.22 pc to Rs 837.05, Nestle India Ltd by 0.73 pc to Rs 2552.11, TCS by 0.39 pc to Rs 4016.05.
