Jayakwadi dam level close to 85 per cent

Aurangabad, July 22 : As flood water discharged from upstream dams in Nashik and Ahmednagar districts, the water level in the Jayakwadi dam has crossed 85 per cent from 32 per cent in just 14 days, officials said here on Friday.
According to the Command Area Development Authority official, with the inflow of 20,641 cusecs of water per second the dam level moved up to 84.90 percent at 0600 hours on Friday.

At present dams are filled up to 1519.12 feet out of its full capacity of 1521 holding 1843.052 MCUM live water stocks out of 2100 MCUM.

However, the dam authorities has started to release 2089 cusecs water including 1589 through hydel project in to river basin and 500 cusecs of water through the right canal, water which is going in to Majalgaon dam in Beed district.

Aurangabad district collector Sunil Chavan directed the officials that, water should release through main gates after the dams level touched 90 percent.
