PM Modi performs Ganga Aarti before filing nomination

Varanasi (UP), May 14 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday performed Ganga Aarti on the occasion of Ganga Saptami at Dasaswamedh Ghat before filing his nomination from Varanasi for the third time.

The prime minister reached Dasaswamedh Ghat in the morning where he performed Ganga Aarti with complete rituals. After performing the ceremony, he left for Namo Ghat from where he would proceed to Baba Kal Bhairav temple, who is known as Kotwal (town magistrate) of Kashi, and seek blessings before filing nomination
Around a dozen chief ministers of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and National Democratic Alliance (NDA)-ruled states, including Yogi Adityanath, besides union ministers and officials of the BJP were set to attend the PM’s nomination.

Following the nomination, the PM will hold a meeting with party workers at the Rudraksha Convention Centre.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will file his nomination during the auspicious conjunction of Pushya Nakshatra and Ganga Saptami is considered likely to succeed.

Prominent among those who are attending the nomination are Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, Assam CM Hemant Biswa Sharma, Haryana’s Nayab Singh Saini, Goa CM Pramod Sawant, Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang and Tripura CM Manik Saha.

Also accompanying the PM are Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and key components of the NDA like Lok Dal president Jayant Chaudhary, LJP chief Chirag Paswan, Apna Dal president Anupriya and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party President Om Prakash Rajbhar are expected to attend.
