Sensex down over 100 points

Mumbai, Feb 27 : The BSE Sensex on Tuesday fell 114.32 points to 72,675.81in the opening session, selling was witnessed in Bankex, Oil and Gas, and BSE Services stocks. While the National Stock Exchange (NSE) eased 32 points to 22,090.20. The Sensex registered intraday highs and lows at 72,777.99 and 72,660.13 points, respectively. The Nifty registered intraday highs and lows at 22,127.15 and 22,085.65 points, respectively. The Mid Cap rose by 0.23 pc and the Small Cap by 0.33 pc. In 30 scrips, 15 advanced, while 15 declined. The losers were Axis Bank by 0.95 pc to Rs 1075.10, Powergrid by 0.61 pc to Rs 286, Bharti Airtel by 0.54 pc to Rs 1104.15, HDFC Bank by 0.39 pc to Rs 1416.65, and NTPC by 0.39 pc to Rs 336.25. The gainers were TCS by 1.04 pc to Rs 4041.85, HCL Technology by 0.68 pc to Rs 1660.85, Wipro by 0.64 pc to Rs 553.20 and Ultracemco by 0.56 pc to Rs 9893.25.
