G-20 Turning Gangtok more beautiful: CM inaugurates monumental installations

Gangtok, Mar 14 : Sikkim Chief Minister PS Tamang on Tuesday inaugurated the landmark installations in the heart of the town here in the presence of his Cabinet Ministers.
He was accompanied by Krishna R Tamang, he urged public to participate in their own way and as usual extended Hospitality.

As the G20 meet is approaching fast, the Capital of Sikkim has been facing changes, for the good, The beautification drive with new ideas has changed the previous setup and design. A G20 logo for India

has been put up at the main MG Marg,with ‘one earth, one family, one future’ was inscribed below it.

Replicas of three stupas of West Sikkim, erstwhile capital have been added. Seasonal flowers have been put up replacing the older ones. In addition National flags of 20 nation’s have been put up, Model of a traditional Sikkimese house next to Gandhiji bust has already been attracting visitors ,the red pandas looking real reflecting the wild life are seen among the Orchid, earlier,Garry Chopel welcomed the guests, the walls next to MG Marg, on the Highway have been beautified and covered with graffiti.Chintan Bhawan ,outer wall from entrance onwards has been covered with graffiti,including portrayal of rafting, Mt Khangchendzonga, ethnic costume wearing boys and girls and many more.
